St. William Catholic School

  Why St. William
A Note from Mary Bauer, Our Principal

Dear Visitor,

At St. William School we’re committed to building the foundation for a solid education and a good life.  I’d like to share with you some of the many things that make a Catholic education at our school so special.

We Celebrate Our Uniqueness

 ·        We celebrate our friendly, family atmosphere.  We are a school where everyone’s face is recognized, where all are made to feel welcome.

 ·        We celebrate the experience and dedication of our faculty and staff.  Our school secretary just celebrated her twelfth anniversary with us, and over half of our teachers were here when I became principal in 1996—over fourteen years ago.

·       We celebrate our cooperative, well-motivated students.  Only three students have served disciplinary detentions in our school this year, and our second quarter honor roll is longer than the first.

 ·       And we celebrate the education that our students receive, grounded in Gospel values, well-rounded academically, and focused on helping each individual learn to the very best of his or her ability.

We Celebrate Our Catholic Identity

A+ For America Catholic SchoolsThe theme of celebration this year for Catholic education is A+ For America Catholic Schools . The theme reminds us that there is no better investment than the education of our children. Catholic schools help prepare students in faith, knowledge, morals and discipline.

At St. William, our Catholic identity is evident throughout the hallways and classrooms—on bulletin boards, in prayer corners, and in the respectful, caring atmosphere that pervades every corner of the building.

We Celebrate Academic Success Apple

Catholic schools academically provide the very best education possible for students.  A dedicated and experienced faculty provides instruction in all academic subjects.  The curriculum incorporates principles of differentiated learning and current brain research.  Students are active learners who are challenged to become critical thinkers and problem solvers.  St. William students consistently score above the national norm in all areas on the Terra Nova Multiple Assessment test.

St. William students are regularly accepted at the high schools of their choice, including:

·        Saint Ignatius

·        Fenwick

·        Guerin Prep

·        Resurrection

·        St. Patrick’s

·        Notre Dame for Girls

·        Notre Dame of Boys

·        Lane Tech

·        Whitney Young

·        Northside College Prep

We Look to the Future

Catholic schools inspire students to be lifelong learners who will be equipped to lead adult lives as leaders in their communities, businesses, and families. Many St. William graduates go on to college and exciting careers.  Our alumni parents are fine examples of the success of our graduates.
