   Extended Day Care Program
A Way to Give Parents and Guardians a Helping Hand

Through our Extended Day Care Program (EDP) we offer before and after school child care on site at St. William School.  The program is available each full school day and most half days for a fee.  We provide professional supervision, enrichment and recreation activities for students enrolled at St. William School in full-day preschool through 6th grade.

Supervision and activities are provided in a Catholic atmosphere in line with the mission and philosophy of St. William School.

Typical Activities

A typical after school stay includes a variety of the following:

·        Time for relaxation and a snack

·        Organized small group physical activities

·        Indoor and outdoor (weather permitting) activities

·        Craft projects

·        Games or another type of directed activity

·        Quiet time to complete homework

·        Time for reading or listening to music

·        Preparation for the parent or guardian’s arrival.

Staff members work together to help each child grow in social skills and in ability to interact with their peers.  Respect of others is stressed.

Use EDP When You Need It

Neither the school nor the parish subsidizes the program.  As such, fees are paid by the participating families to support the program.

Hourly fees help accommodate families who need child care for only one hour or less.  A daily fee is also available for families who only choose to use the program every once in a while.  Five Day fees are available for families who choose to use the program on a more regular basis.

The program is available on many of the days when school is normally not in session due to staff development days, holidays, Christmas and Easter breaks.
